People lend competitive advantage to a firm. Human Resource Management is a management function that helps managers plan, recruit, select, train, develop, remunerate and maintain members for an organization. It is the latest terminology used to denote personnel management (PM)

HRM offers several career opportunities to the aspirants.

People management is a rewarding experience. it is the people who possess skills, abilities and attitudes that offer a competitive advantage to a firm. It is only the human resource that is capable of deciding, implementing and controlling activities. No computer can substitute human brain, no machines can run without human interventions and no organization has any obligation to exist if it cannot serve people's need.

Human Resource Management is a study about people in organizations – how they are hired, trained, compensated, motivated and maintained

A factory is built on not by God, but by human beings. It is a human being or people who build factories, structure organization and manage them successfully. Exactly how an idea is conceived by entrepreneurs, how a building is constructed and a machinery is installed, how needed inputs are Marshalled and put to use, and how goods and services are produced, is a Saga which is no less thrilling and exciting then a General leading Army to victory in a war, an invention made by a scientist or a remedy discovered to cure AIDS disease.
